If you see people questioning players from the Islamic Republic’s national team, maybe you should stop for a moment and ask yourself why.
Maybe there’s something you don’t know.
These players have repeatedly and publicly supported the regime’s leaders and its crimes. They have also echoed the regime’s propaganda by attacking other countries, including the United States and Israel.
Were they “just footballers” then?
No. Absolutely not!
This is not an ordinary national team where players are selected only for their football ability. There are many political and ideological filters they must pass before they are allowed to represent the Islamic Republic.
Right now, while you’re reading this, I suggest you search for the name Rashid Mazaheri, the former goalkeeper of Iran’s national team. Look up where he is today.
He was a teammate of many of the very players you are defending.
Before speaking, do your research.
Whatever your opinion of Trump, or anyone else, don’t end up amplifying the Islamic Republic’s propaganda.
