[THREAD] let’s talk about the environment and mental health. Our environment and its influence on us is very complex and has too many variables. We live at home with our families, partners or alone. We go to school or work. We have a group of peers. We frequent certain locations

Good afternoon.
Please NOTE
There must, be an urgent demand to repeal the Citizenship Rules 2003 & Section 14A Citizenship Act, which gives arbitrary power to Local Registrar to doubt your citizenship, allow any person to file objection against your citizenship in #NRC

In UP, after beating and taking in a 13 year old child, they offered him water.
He drank. He had to go to the bathroom. They took him out to urinate, and beat him brutally.
He stopped drinking water.
He didn't drink til he came home 2 days later.

Good morning.
To solve a crime, you don't drag everyone in the area to the police thana and force them to prove they didn't do it
To detect some undocumented migrants, you don't drag all 1.3 billion Indians to the local babu and force them to prove their citizenship

So how can Govt take back CAA given it has been passed by parliament?
#Thread.
1. Make a public announcement and a PIB release saying that the Act won't be brought to force anytime soon - and certainly not before the next session of parliament.
@gautambhatia88 I agree, but the average Indian cannot be expected to have the legal and logical soundness to be able to sit down, listen and break them down. Hence, we need stronger voices with larger outreach
@gautambhatia88 So glad about this. We do not have enough big names dissecting this in a logical manner on our sides, while the other side has long enough videos that seem really convincing
1/ There are lots of good and vital ethical, moral, and political arguments against the fundamental injustice of the #CAA. This thread lists other arguments and forms of resistance that focus on procedural and institutional challenges.
Today, I met a woman at a train station. We were standing together on the platform.
We exchanged smiles, and I went back to reading something on my phone.
When I looked up a few moments later, she was still looking at me. I smiled again. She smiled back. We looked away.

No one challenges ‘reservation’ of connections, generational wealth, resources or even basic information that comes from being in these spaces that Dalits often don’t have access to.
Almost Indian CEOs are ‘Upper’ caste yet we accept that as the norm

Still can't believe that @shamnad is no more. This is a personal loss. I looked up to him for inspiration. He was a revolutionary. His work on disability law, reforms in legal education, IP and most importantly IDIA brought immense change.
It deeply saddens us to inform you that our founder, Prof. Shamnad Basheer has passed away. Each of us not only grieves at the passing of such a tremendous individual but also for the loss the IDIA family suffers. IDIA will continue to carry forward his legacy and work.
