I know how much that matters because I lived it.
I entered Plano ISD without speaking English. My teachers didn’t see a barrier. They saw a student with potential. They gave me the confidence, support, and opportunities to succeed.
That’s why I’ll always fight to make sure today’s students have those same opportunities.
At the Texas Democratic Convention, I spoke about what’s at stake for public education and why our schools deserve leaders who are willing to invest in students, support educators, and strengthen the future we’re building together.

Being a progressive in Texas has been really, really hard lately but then I have a wonderful night with friends and I just remind myself that this community is worth staying + fighting for.
