If you take Athens Drive - leave yourself some extra time this morning! Starting today the Athens Drive Bridge is closed for the next year. Crews are working to demolish it in the next few days and ultimately replace it. The detour is about 10 minutes long

HAPPENING NOW: A group of parents are protesting a petition for a vaccine mandate for 17 year-olds. The Commission for Public Health is reviewing it now. It’s likely it won’t be granted. Public health officials are recommending against it. @wral

A new COVID testing site opens today right outside DPAC today. You can walk in or sign up for an appointment on the @Curative site. Looks like there are about 200 slots available for today. The company says you get your results in 1-2 days.

The @WRAL family is shaken to the core. After work yesterday, my co-worker Erin was the victim of hit and run crash that has left her in critical condition. Police are still searching for the suspect. Please send a prayer for her and her family.

First an ambulance off the road on 87, now a tractor trailer off the road on 40. Crews are still blocking off 40 E by the Wade Ave Exit. Bridges continue to be the trouble spots out here this morning. @wral @wralbrian

So sad - @BrettKneseTV is reporting an ambulance went off the road off 87 in Knightdale. The ambulance was transporting a patient who was experiencing cardiac arrest. Unfortunately the ambulance is still off the road, and the patient passed from the medical emergency.
