Watched some shots of CM sahib with Kapil Sibal today.

Was squirming with embarrassment. CM sahib these days comes across as a right wing radical BJP spokesperson. Like the English speaking Congress rebel, CM sahib seems more BJP than BJP these days.

CM sahib says can’t do anything without centre and that he has to be cordial with the centre.
There is a difference between cordiality and servility. And wasn’t this statement that can’t do anything without centre as true in the Pre election phase, as it is today. Was that show of hostility a farce.

Pre elections CM sahib and post elections CM sahib are totally different persons. It seems to be a medical emergency case of chronic political bi polarity.

CM sahib Indulged in Pakistan bashing. Isn’t it the same CM sahib who fought an entire election calling everybody else BJP and fiercely advocating talks with Pakistan.
And if my memory does not fail me. Didnt Khwaja Asif defence minister of Pakistan inspired by CM sahib’s great Paki theatrical performance endorse the NC stance during elections. Did he not say that NC and them are on the same page.

Have to give credit to CM sahib. He hoodwinked those who hoodwinked all. Of course He would have informed Delhi in advance. Jail and PSA is for poorer Kashmiri souls who are punished for a liking a simple post on social media which security establishment does not like. The King’s parties of course have a licence.

CM sahib spoke about statehood apologetically and his concept of administration seems to be transfers. But have to give him credit. Have never seen an uncreative person as him. No new ideas. Only ideas he seems to have about administrative delivery is power to punish.

CM sahib’s concept of security is all about management and not engagement. Pre election it was all about engaging the people of Kashmir.

CM sahib, Donning yet again the role of a loyal BJP spokesperson does not support a special session to discuss operation Sindoor.

CM sahib blames dual control for ineffective lacklustre administrative performance.

But want to ask CM sahib. Fulfilling electoral promises is in his hand. Let him start with free electricity or free gas cylinders or making daily wagers permanent.

Anyway looking forward to the day when CM sahib formally allies with the BJP.

In the stillness of the night of May 29, in 2009, two women stepped out in Shopian, Kashmir, unaware they were walking into the dark mouth of history.

Asiya Jan, only 17, and her sister-in-law Neelofar Jan, 22, never came home.

The next morning, they were found: lifeless, violated, discarded…by the banks of a shallow stream. The meadow, once blooming with spring, now held the silence of horror.

Their clothes were torn, their bodies bore signs too brutal to be spoken of. The valley didn’t just lose two daughters that day: it lost its breath.

But the crime didn’t end with their death. The real horror began after.

The state called it drowning.
As if the waters had hands.
As if the bruises and blood could lie.
As if Kashmir had forgotten how to mourn.

They told us they slipped and fell. But the people knew: rivers do not rape. The autopsy was tampered. Doctors silenced. Witnesses threatened. And those who cried out for justice were beaten into quiet.

But how do you silence a mother whose child was torn from her arms?
How do you bury truth when the land itself weeps?

Asiya wanted to be a teacher. Neelofar had a baby she’d left asleep at home that night. Their dreams didn’t end in that stream, but were drowned in courts, headlines, and cover-ups.

Their story is not an exception in Kashmir: it is a pattern.
A pattern of how the state weaponizes silence, how it turns mothers into mourners, rivers into graves, and justice into a cruel joke.

But we remember.

We remember Asiya’s youth, her laughter, her notebooks.
We remember Neelofar’s gentleness, her child who grew up without a mother.
We remember because forgetting is betrayal.
We remember because our memory is resistance.

And when we say their names: Asiya, Neelofar, we are not mourning.
We are testifying.

Let the world hear it loud and clear:
They did not drown.
They were raped.
They were murdered.
And they were Kashmiri.
