In Aust. Ms Dhu died in custody for unpaid fines. A victim of Dom violence. Asked for medical assistance didn’t receive it. Mr Ward a respected elder, blew over the limit. Put in a police van & transported 4hrs without A/C. Was literally cooked alive, no charges 1/8

Children are NOT safe from cops Education Minister & Police Minister! To reprimand the incredible, critical thought promoting environment of ed given at @LindfieldLearn is a supreme white approach & negates very real & traumatic experiences of so many kids & their communities.

@aniacopian I think USA esp, as a society, need to look at why we read one article or see one news spot and don’t further research. Or hear something from a friend & not check... Netflix is just another outlet. It’s a culture of not learning critical thinking skills & actions 🤷🏻‍♀️

I’ve withdrawn from TEDX. This was a really hard decision for me...but to be told that talking about my people being killed in custody is too political or that my language had to be softer, I can’t in good faith be a part of a platform that requires that of me
