Kashmiri, Engineer by Education, Entrepreneur, Soccer Fanatic, Arsenal Fan (Gunner), Cricket Enthusiast.. Allergic to stupidity, so I break out in sarcasm.
You going to take this mockery, @Arsenal ? Or are you going to stand up, show some bottle, and fight for this Title like it means more than life or death?
OBITUARY
Sadly, three of the erstwhile Jammu and Kashmir State's prominent personalities passed away for different health issues in the last three days-- politicians Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah of Qazigund Kashmir and Qamar Ali Akhoo of Kargil Ladakh on Friday and folk artist Rajinder Kumar Tickoo on Sunday. I had a long time association with Rajinder since the days we used to produce programs for DD in 1999. He was also a consummate actor. His last visit to my Jammu residence was somewhere around 2018 when he was shining with his daily "Ladi Shah" [written by our friend Rajesh Raina] on ETV Urdu of TV18]. In January 2018, Rajinder sent me a clip of his film and wanted me to watch it at Hari theatre. In May that year, he was the first to share with me the sad news of the passing away of the prominent Kashmiri Pandit poet Prithwi Nath Kaul Sayil. We maintained exchanging Eid, Diwali and Herath greetings for years. May his soul rest in peace.
Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah, popularly known as Ahmad Shah Gulab for the red rose he religiously wore on his achkan and coats, was returned as the National Conference's MLA from Divsar (Qazigund) in 1996. In 1998, he was inducted as Minister of Forest in Dr Farooq Abdullah's NC government. Qamar Ali Akhoon was elected for J&K Assembly for several terms from his home segment of Kargil. He also functioned as a Minister, Advisor to Chief Minister and the first Chief Executive Councillor and Chairman of the Ladakh Hill Development Council (Kargil) even as he lost to the Congress party's Asgar Ali Karbalayi in 2002. I have known both of them for over 25 years as selfless politicians. On one occasion, when Peerzada was the Minister of Forest, the officers and bureaucrats of his Department formulated a scheme of the backdoor entry of the sons and daughters of some influential persons as Assistant Directors in the State's Forest Protection Force. They also included the son of the most prominent Hurriyat leader as also the daughter of the Forest Minister. However, Peerzada Sahab declined to approve the list and got his daughter dropped. She had a DDR in Forestry. Thereafter, she completed MBBS and was subsequently appointed as a doctor. Peerzada's nephew later emerged as his successor and was elected as MLA from Divsar.
May Allah grant a high place to both the people-friendly leaders.
Help me understand why people complain when doctors charge them a fee for a revisit but are happy to give out a fortune to quacks who have no idea about medical science or healthcare?
