A friend worked hard. Built a wonderful business. Sold it for ₹4,000 cr.
Then came the private jet. Palatial homes. Lavish living. Reckless investments.
Four years later, he is down to ₹400 cr.
And yes… he’s a Punjabi.
Moral: Creating wealth is a talent. Preserving it is a discipline.
A central govt officer came to Chandigarh recently on tour in a Kia Carnival Limousine.
Mere Innova is no longer good enough for them.
If they cannot fly business class, they will travel by road in business class.
Rest is all eyewash.
Crossed 62 Years few days back.
Should one stop Gym or continue?
At my favorite small little gym.
Gen Z are awesome, respectable, give space and assist.

In 1963, an IPS Officer had a son in Bhopal. He would take his family with him during his international postings at RAW on a diplomatic visa.
By age 4, the son was hearing gunfire on the streets of Jakarta during the military coup.
By age 7, his school in Colombo had shut for a year because of the armed insurgency.
The boy wanted to study Economics to understand why countries fell apart. But he was forced to choose engineering!
In 1981, that son cracked JEE and went to study Electrical Engineering at @iitdelhi, then MBA at @IIMAhmedabad, but finally went back to his first love. Started his Economics PhD at MIT in 1987.
That son is the ex RBI governor of India - Raghuram Rajan
I quote-tweeted this yesterday but it is still hard to put in words what this post from @NYCMayor means to so many millions of Muslims, especially Shias, not just across the US but across the world. If only more non-Muslims knew less about ISIS & more about Imam Hussain. #ashura
If petrol came under GST at 28%, your Rs.102 Delhi petrol would cost approximately Rs.75, a Rs.27/litre instant relief for every Indian. But petrol is OUTSIDE GST because states collect 19-35% VAT they will never surrender. GST promise made in 2017. It is 2026. Nine years. Zero action.
OMC gross marketing margin on petrol: Rs.10.60/litre. Historical average: Rs.3.50/litre. That is a 203% windfall above normal, while crude is near a 4-year low. IOC, BPCL, HPCL are making 3x their normal profit per litre. Your Rs.102 petrol funds their balance sheet. Not your roads. Their bottom line.
Brent crude crashed from $117 to $70 a barrel, a 40% DROP in 3 months. Petrol in Delhi: still Rs.102.12/litre. Diesel: still Rs.90+.
In what universe does a 40% fall in your raw material not reach the consumer? India's universe, where the government is both the refinery AND the taxman.

The sacrifice of Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) continues to inspire many people to remain steadfast in the pursuit of truth and justice. It is also a reminder of the enduring power of courage and conviction.
With crude oil around $70/barrel, almost pre-war level, I request Hon’ble Petroleum Minister @HardeepSPuri ji to pass on the benefits to the consumers. People in AP are paying ₹116/litre which is burning a hole in people’s pockets. Relief should be given where possible. #PetrolPrice #AndhraPradesh
Government and OMCs are making approximately ₹5,000 crore in profit every day by not passing on the benefit of lower crude oil prices to consumers.

Your 75-year-old dad sees 4 specialists. Each one prescribes something. Nobody looks at the full list. 1 in 3 elderly hospitalizations may be drug interactions — not the disease returning. Ask the doctor: can we stop anything? #Polypharmacy
Bottom line is:
AIIMS doctors value freedom. Freedom to do clinical research, patient care and teach. You can’t coerce the most ambitious talent of the country to toe the line of the govt.
Money was always less in AIIMS.
If you take freedom away, there isn’t any reason to stay.
Dr. Maqbool should not join back, this place doesnt deserve him.
He should too, like others who desire to live a good life, leave for abroad, make a ton of money and never return back.
Kashmir only deserves hideous politicians, influencers and corrupt bureaucrats.
Who answers for Dr. Syed Maqbool's children being bullied as a scamster's offspring at school? Who compensates his wife's sleepless nights, or the tears of shame streaming down his parents' faces?
The influencers masquerading as journalists, and the sinister insiders who leaked official documents to these vultures, must be held financially and legally accountable. Every last one of them.
And if the regulators overseeing public information continue looking the other way, they are not innocent bystanders. They are complicit. They are culpable. Silence at this point is nothing short of endorsement.
Just spoke to a 2025 MBBS graduate, regarding his financials.
Earns 23k as night shift doctor in a hospital.
Father has suffered 2 heart attacks - had to take loans for his treatment.
Elder brother has an unstable job.
He feels guilty of turning 26 but not being able to help his family.
So he has taken up a day shift as well, paying him 24k.
He works 19hrs a day, nearly everyday.
Wants to do a PG but can’t, given his family’s financial situation.
I asked him - a doctor’s life is intensely hard, especially in India. You study till early 30s and work hard all your life, to earn a living. Did you know this when you wanted to become a doctor?
“Yes. I knew all of this.
But I always wanted to become a doctor. I am the first doctor in our family. My parents are so proud of me.
I just wish we were in a better financial position.”
💔
His situation broke my heart. But his attitude told me he is going to make it. Matter of time!
Hands down one of the hardest professions to pursue in India - from entry to survival.
