One thing that’s got left behind in crypto the last few years is its most central theme: community. One crypto that stands apart in this decline is $KAS. There’s never been a better time to launch a Kaspa product. This account has gotten nearly 300 followers in just 2 days!
Let’s re-address the hashrate debate for $KAS since not everyone seems to understand how it works.
There’s a bit of complexity here so we will give it go without logarithmic charts.

However you cut it, there is a lot more interest in $KAS today than there was 3 years ago.
This summary was prepared by https://t.co/fsIeOBAKQj, a forthcoming news site for the Kaspa ecosystem.

Today, there are around 2.5-3 $KAS mined per block and there’s a 300 ph/s or so hashrate. Given the higher 10 bps we have to obviously account for this in seconds when we consider energy cost, so readjusting for this and we are at about 25-30 KAS coins ps.

It’s impossible to correlate this pattern with “reduced network security” or “reduced interest in $KAS” as some critics claim. Miners today are willing to spend a multiple of 300x the energy inefficiency on a KAS coin as they were 3 years ago. That’s obvious accumulation.

Back in mid-2023, when $KAS was last around 3c a coin, there was about 3 ph/s of hashrate mining KAS and a block reward of just over 200 KAS/block.
Blocks were 1 per second and then moved to 10 per second after the Crescendo hard fork in 2025.

@kaspadesk Nope - the Semitone Slashing halve Kaspa $KAS miner income annually, rather than quadrennially as Buttcoin $BTC does.
It means the brr-printed inflationary funding runs out four times faster.
So Kaspa $KAS has only a quarter of the time to replace that with fee income.
@MDohsi777 We could really do with connecting with individual users and developers so we can get their personal stories and run them. That’s going to be the best content of all …
@Ghostbanned7@dailygoat Your chart is better. There was no attempt to cover anything up. We even said YOUR chart still shows that $KAS is being mined at far above the cost of where it was the last time the coin was at this price and this only made more clear by the reductions in supply being mined.
Let’s discuss transactions on $KAS, a widely misunderstood phenomenon.
You often hear critics say “no one uses KAS” or “it needs more utility.” Well, that’s not quite true.

@Ghostbanned7 No. The monthly chromatic emissions schedule just speeds up the periods of evolution of the chain so there’s more volatility but it doesn’t make it “older” faster. There’s a difference.
Let’s discuss $KAS hashrate since there’s all sorts of discussions about how that’s fallen this year and a bit of misunderstanding going around.
The argument by critics is: Kaspa hashrate has fallen since Jan so it’s over. But they don’t say by how much.

@Ghostbanned7 The point is that even using your own chart it’s far above where it was the last time $KAS was sitting in this range and hence miners are accumulating. These same points were being thrown at $BTC back in 2015, but the fears never materialized into reality because of accumulation
@Ghostbanned7 The log scale does flatten the curve a bit but it also flattens it to the upside too. The point remains the same: has is still way above where it was when the $KAS coin price was last in this range and way, way above where it started out. It is following an early $BTC trend.
What’s so interesting is to compare this hashrate graph for $KAS with that of $BTC in the 2012-2016 period. Here’s a chart of BTC hash from 2012-2018.
As you can see, there was a similar sort of leveling off of hash in 2015 right before a big push again.

The picture is one where $KAS is substantially more expensive to mine vs. its historical price than it’s ever been, and yet minters are still busy mining it.
This suggests that there is huge accumulation under way right now.
