The world has gone to shit and I cannot bear the news or serious programmes, despite that I'm in my late 40s and my children are teenagers, I've taken to watching Cbeebies. It's fun, bright and educational. I've learned a lot and also become less stressed. I recommend it.
As many nations ban books...
Finland has started teaching school children how to identify fake news and propaganda as a part of its curriculum.
Be like Finland.
I imagine it must be exhausting for children to experience their childhood for a perceived audience, learning to perform domesticity to strangers, waiting for a parent to set up the tripod, move to a different location, stand still as they brush your hair for the camera
One thing that's made my blood boil in the Pelicot trial is the part medical misogyny played in allowing the horrors to go on. Gisele went to Drs about gynae issues, memory loss, etc and it was all dismissed as female hysteria or female troubles to just learn to live with.
i don’t believe men mature later than women, i believe they’re just allowed to be more immature and have less judgement imposed on them for longer than women.
As the wondrous Bob Mortimer is trending, I thought I'd share this quote from his autobiography.
'I've always thought that the two most unselfish things you can do in life are to turn up on time and to be quiet around a house when someone else is sleeping.'
He's not wrong ❤️
If I hear one more racist say “they’re invading our country” & “they don’t share core British values,” I’m going to remind them of how invading countries used to be a core British value
That hotel in Rotherham is not housing illegal migrants. It is housing asylum seekers. People who have fled from danger hoping the UK would be a place of safety, and are now surrounded by murderous thugs trying to burn them alive. Get it right, journalists. Tell the truth.
