Tough conversations, the hard work of working across lines...are you up for it? It's ok to say you're not or that you need a break. This is not for the faint.
@MelissaFloBix With a tween with the internet, I totally get why it was easier to shut down convo and put it on God and the Bible...it's hard work sharing, being open, protecting, etc. Keep your legs closed is easier to say.
@YNPierce You were amazing all throughout! And loved your excerpt in Christian Century..Barbara Fears keeps saying we need to meet. Keep up the awesome work
@kdsilver Great perspective...You gave me my first job in the biz..a part-time summer gig at the Daily Comet. Your warmth and kindnes is still remembered.
Okay. So. I just received a royalty check for $447.40 for royalties on MAMA, my first novel, published in 1987. This is what can happen when you write from your heart never thinking you'll ever see a royalty. #royalty
@MsTerryMcMillan Ioved Mama...in publishing acquisitions, it is common to remind authors that the advance is normally all they will ever see...as an author and consultant, I tell writers you may see a royalty check, but think of it as retirement income not a part of your plannwd budget now
We all have a part to play in decolonizing...base it on who you are, what you participate in, and your circle of influnece....from author @KaitlinCurtice at Washington Island Forum (virtually) paraphrased. @ChristianCent
