Greetings from the resumed session of the second @UNHABITAT Assemby! 🇺🇳

This week we have discussed crucial agenda items, such as the next Strategic Plan for 2026–2029. At the heart of the strategy lies advancing adequate #housing and sustainable urban development. 🏘️

I gave a speech at the UN HQ in Nairobi.

My thesis is that Global South will determinate the direction of the world order. In a world in turmoil, it has an opportunity to leverage its influence.

The UN lays the foundations of an order governed by rules, instead of might. But the UN's institutions are in need of reform.

I encourage the UN leaders in Nairobi to embrace the challenge. Our goal should not be just a leaner UN, but a stronger one.

Kenia on vankka monenkeskisen järjestelmän tukija ja se työskentelee rauhan ja turvallisuuden edistämiseksi alueella. Keskustelimme Venäjän hyökkäyssodasta Ukrainaan sekä Itä-Afrikan alueellisista konflikteista.

Sovimme myös maidemme välisen yhteistyön lisäämisestä eri aloilla, muun muassa taloudessa.

First visit was to Mr. Green Africa, which sorts plastic waste to transform them to plastic pellets competing with virgin plastics ♻️
