Holy crap.
Pancreatic is one of the deadliest cancers.
New paper shows personalized mRNA vaccines can induce durable anticancer T cells that attack pancreatic cancer. 75% of patients cancer free at three years.
Just a reminder to the maga crowd cheering on these mass firings...
These are scientists. Park rangers.
Disabled Veterans. Humanitarians. Civil servants.
They are human.
They have bills to pay. Families who depend on them. Children. Many of them took pride in their work. Some were just getting started in their careers.
Losing a job and financial hardship is not funny. It impacts every member of the family. It impacts self worth. It impacts the economy.
Finding satisfaction in the indiscriminate firing of tens of thousands of Americans at the hands of a punch drunk billionaire is not only cruel, it's unAmerican.
This is not patriotism.
Police in Alabama shot and killed a 16-year-old boy in his own home during a no-knock raid in the middle of the night.
Body camera footage allegedly shows Randall Adjessom raising his hands and backing away just before an officer opened fire.
He was left bleeding on the floor for 4 minutes before officers attempted to render aid.
Randall is remembered as a loving family member who brought joy to those around him.
RIP

As someone writing (in a roundabout way) on the history of higher ed, I have no illusions that higher ed ever had moral authority - founded explicitly & implicitly via settler-colonialism & chattel slavery - but it’s a good aspiration to address and repair past and ongoing harms.
Colleges & universities adopting institutional neutrality policies are acceding to & complicit with right-wing assaults on institutions and are ensuring that higher ed will never have a chance at having moral authority as we edge closer to our autocratic dystopian near future. 🧵
What’s coming is chaos, confusion, and attacks on every issue you care about all at once. That’s the strategy — mass mayhem and distraction. Don’t let it work. Define your sphere of influence: where you can have an impact, work on that, strengthen/build relationships.
