Absolutely disgusted by the service I’ve received from @Hermesparcels delivery! Saying my parcel was signed for at my salon when it wasn’t even open! Now have no outfit for my work’s Christmas party 🤬🤬
A warning: since becoming the victim of a house fire earlier this year and losing most of my possessions in the world, Barclays insurance have made my life hell @barclaysuknews @barclays@BarclaysUK@BarclaysUKHelp
Despite the harrowing experience we felt positive as we had a seemingly comfortable cover of £50k contents insurance, and we reassured our little girls that they shouldn’t be scared because we would be ok. Unfortunately, @barclays had other plans. @BarclaysUKHelp@BarclaysUK
@Barclays employed a disaster care company, who cleared our shattered home and threw away most of our belongings whilst salvaging some for cleaning. Throughout this process, no costs were communicated to us and we felt reassured that our world would soon be restored
@barclays provided no warning that the cost of cleaning our smoke damaged home would eventually eat into almost 40% of our insured budget. They did not oversee or have any involvement with what the third company they employed threw in the skip
@barclays did not state in our policy that cleaning costs would eat into a very large portion of our contents insurance. They did not obtain written permission to dispose of our belongings, and they did not warn us they would then not be willing to replace said belongings.
@barclays did not inform us that no one at Barclays would monitor the costs associated with their employment of the third party company. Barclays essentially gave an open check book to a company that we had no prior affiliation with.
@barclays are now refusing to replace much of mine and my children’s worldly possessions, despite their extremely flawed process being the root of this scandalous outcome. To top it off, they are also not replying to emails or requests for a breakdown of costs so far
I have requested having my smoke damaged belongings back so I could clean them myself and @barclays informed me my goods have been completely disposed of. Again, with no permission from myself and no prior warning that they would not be replaced.
All @Barclays have told me is that the cost of cleaning was an earth shattering £18,000. The cost of replacing mine and my children’s possessions is £40,000. If Barclays had monitored this process, we could of saved £8000 worth of goods for potential cleaning ourselves.
Instead, we are left numb and broken by what we thought was a trust worthy British hertitage bank. It turns out they are a flawed and ruthless corporation. @barclays
