@HelsinkiAirport@finland_uk too bad they didn't load my bag on my journey to Australia and now I'm stranded with no clothes for 3 weeks. Disappointed at how this is being handled 😕

Having ADHD means there's a chance that any change I make around the house will be semi-permanent.
Bedsheet taken off the bed? It'll be like that for 3 days.
Put my favorite mug in the wrong spot? Better get a new one.
The passage of time can feel different for people with ADHD.
This is time agnosia (or time blindness) and it not only impacts our ability to feel time passing, but also to estimate how long tasks take, to plan for the future, and to see future events as real or controllable
Having ADHD is expensive. It’s expensive with your time, money, energy, everything. Sometimes it really sucks, like when it takes you nine hours to do something that could’ve taken someone else five minutes. But I make it through each day.
Impulses are universal, as is 'response inhibition'—a re-evaluation that stops us from acting on the impulse.
Many ADHD'ers struggle with impulsivity because there's a longer gap between impulse & re-evaluation for us, one big enough we start to act before inhibition stops us
A major part of having ADHD is struggling with self-regulation, or the ability to monitor and manage our emotions, energy, stimulation, attention, impulses, and motivation.
Self-regulation struggles can have serious impacts on our mental health, relationships, and self-worth
@williamp7 how do you mean that? Opening up about your mental health struggles fosters empathy & encourages people to be open and vulnerable in sharing their experiences. A personal brand is about connection, and there's no better way to connect than through authenticity.
@arborillustrate @marinaklemm Yeah I’m the same. I taught myself Latex and all, but supervisors couldn’t handle it, and yeah.. at that point I left it 😂 that being said, I’m doing viva corrections now and my 15 MB word doc is not happy 🤬
"When you feel confused or burdened by problems focus on THIS INSTANT and ask yourself: WHAT PROBLEM DO I HAVE RIGHT NOW? You will find that there is no problem NOW. A challenge that requires action, possibly, but not a problem." - Eckhart Tolle
I'll relax once I submit this paper.
I'll relax once I submit my thesis.
I'll relax once I defend my thesis.
I'll relax after I get a post-doc.
Damn! I guess I'll have to relax after I get a permanent position.
No. The future always gets busier.
Schedule proper breaks NOW. 💛
