Farm Business Mgmt presented business plans for home power washing, wheel detailing, custom wood working, welding, show rabbits pigs, cattle &sheep. Made balance sheets, year 1 cash flow projections and solvency/liquidity. 2-3 students are going for it with their plans.#WhyITeach
@silagechopper My sophomore in HS is doing the same in the welding world, getting great experience doing custom jobs that the rig guys won’t touch. There is always room in ag services for some hustle and desire to try.
Today was chicken breaking lab in Foods of Animal Origin. Whole chickens were broken into backs, legs, breast cutlets and tenders, wings without the tips and boneless thighs. Students can use these products in their class final. #IFACadetPride#AdventuresInTeachingAg
@Aztech_Ag Machinery Pete’s books have great stories about pieces sold among the prices. Escape From Baxters Barn, Little Joe, back issues of All Around The Farm, Limping Through Life and Dear County Agent Guy by Jerry Nelson, Crowded In the Middle of Nowhere, Little Heathens
@gfy_ag@GrainStats Bean head and going wrong direction, no seats under people at ends of the table, truck drivers seat on wrong side of the truck, no model number on combine, crop height on horizon not matched… ugh.
@CarrieJorgensen I am so glad we don’t waste time to recognize the names of the players who took him down. Instead, we recognize that masses of students fought to honor his “I will.”
@PioneerSeeds and local dealer Chris Phipps… our agronomy and plant science course will be better because of the Cortiva grant that purchased these learning models for the IFA ag department. Thanks for the support!#IFACadetPride
And the first chicken pen is complete with bedding. The Buff Orpington chickens will be relocated to their new home shortly. Proud of all the classes that contributed to getting this done. #IFACadetPride
Chicken wire has been installed in the first pen by a couple AFNR kids. I can’t wait to get this project done so all the critters can be in one space for the winter! #IFACadetPride#AdventuresInAg
@eichstadt_jay Our FFA chapter fed farmers, truckers, the ag tire shop, ethanol plant shift, a manure application company and a couple other places. Takes all of them to feed the world.
The School flock facility is coming along. The electrical unit will tie in perfectly after framing. These students have worked hard, had great jokes & make the work fun. It’s been great to see accuracy, speed and quality of work improve. #IFACadetPride#AdventuresInTeachingAg
For the first time in at least 10 years by Cam’s figuring, the FFA project tractor is standing on its own 4 wheels… this is a slow March project. Lots of kids have had their hands on this project. #IFACadetPride
Today was another first in a long time for our chapter… had members Hailey and Kenedi participate in State FFA Livestock Judging contest in Ames! Members and Bartling learned a lot about the contest and are ready to do better next time! #IFACadetPride#GrowthMindset
