my body is mine and mine only, and I am the only one who has the right to decide what I do to my body. No one has the right to decide what a woman chooses to do with her body, apart from that woman herself 💜💪🏻 #abortionrights // illustration by me // words by Samirah Raheem
if reform win the next GE, young people, women, working class and ethnic minorities will be the ones to take the hit. education will be impacted, NHS will be privatised, women could get fired for getting pregnant, women lose the rights women have fighted years for.

Elizabeth Banks says more people should be following Effie's arc from ‘THE HUNGER GAMES’
“Effie for me is one of the characters that has the greatest arc that I’ve ever played because obviously she props up this fascist regime that she benefits from and it’s not until she really comes to care for and see how unfair it is when they want to pull Katniss and Peta into the games again… I think in ‘Catching Fire’ when she’s like, ‘I want to be part of this team,’ and you really see her struggling and then by the end she’s like a revolutionary… I wish more of us were becoming revolutionaries!"

every fantasy series now is indeed called The Ballad of Blood & Bone & every back cover blurb is like Lenora Sparrowlove was the first of her clan to be born without magick. Or so she thought, until her Seventeenth Name Day arrived.
Sometimes male anger at ‘women getting special treatment’ reminds me of a gorilla experiment. One gorilla gets a banana every hour. The females next to him get one every four hours. Then someone decides to be ‘fairer’ and gives the females a banana every two hours instead. The original gorilla? He flips out. He’s still getting his banana every hour, but it feels like a loss because his advantage shrank.
That’s how a lot of men react to basic fairness for women: not as justice, but as theft.
I will never stop adding smiley faces to my work messages. It’s who I am. They’ll have to pry that friendly little emoji from my cold dead hands I swear to god
