@randymbrowne Of course that made it worse, but the intimidation factor is real for grad students. I think clearly communicating flexibility ahead of time to reviewers would help make reviewers less likely to ghost if crisis does strike.
I wish I'd internalized this before I ghosted a review editor years ago as an early PhD student after a bunch of family crises hit. I still feel a ton of guilt about it. But I think this is partly systemic. How can we create a culture of more open communication about hardship?
@randymbrowne I understand that now (especially after having been in the role of chasing down submissions myself!), but back then I was just so intimidated by the idea of letting down this senior figure in my field who I had otherwise had zero interactions with that I became paralyzed.

I wanted to share some quick thoughts about one aspect of the #Cuomo story.
It's about information literacy.
Specifically, it's about reading vs tv watching.

Incredible update to Zotero (beta): fantastic built-in PDF reader with many annotation features; better notes; a new tabbed interface so you can have multiple items open at the same time; full support for embedded images. Team @Zotero killing it, as usual. https://t.co/jCgsdvLwoL
