Heartbreaking news on Vols beat:
Wes Rucker, who covered UT since 2000, died in a car crash Thursday.
Wes was a loving husband & father. Witty, talented & often the last to leave the Neyland press box.
Prayers for Lauren, Hank & a baby girl on the way.

🎉 Big news for John Coleman Elementary! 📚
The John Coleman Elementary School library has been awarded a $12,500 grant from the Smyrna Rotary Club! The funding comes from the club’s annual Wings of Freedom Fish Fry (WOFFF), which raises money to support the local community.
Library media specialist Shannon LeCates, a Smyrna native, shared that part of the grant will be used to purchase a book vending machine for JCE students—making reading even more exciting and accessible.
Thank you, Smyrna Rotary Club, for investing in our students and our schools!
These 1st graders now have a Ph.D in SEC mascots — their names, origins, traditions, personal stories, etc.
Fun visit to daughter @katelynnj36’s class, where she student teaches and I was the guest reader.

A few know our oldest daughter @katelynnj36's story.
In 2017, her teacher/cheer coach @BevyGood (my wife) rescued her from an unsafe abusive home as a foster daughter.
Here's Katelynn telling her story at @UTKnoxville 1st Gen Grad event. So proud of her. https://t.co/HhVMgBrjmC
There's a Tennessee Vols sports bar in Tokyo. So I went there.
I signed the Tennessee map on the wall. I watched the Orange Bowl. I ate delicious chili dogs. I heard owner Yoshi sing "Jolene."
Oh, and I learned a Japanese translation of "Nico," sorta.

Best way to see Tokyo?
In real-life Mario Kart — albeit dressed as Eeyore, Minnie Mouse, Stitch & Pluto — doing up to 50 mph through busy streets for 2 hours. 🏎️🇯🇵
