@Prophetised @CreightonAg @dyerjonathan@Think_Agri@yieldprophet I'm currently attempting to answer that question for my research project! Running APSIM simulations across the Wimmera and Mallee to see if fertiliser strategy (N Bank vs YP) affects N location, supply and uptake. Would be very keen to get your thoughts on it Tim
@MichaelHCOU Fewer breakdowns and less weather holdups Michael, but it still needs a good operator. Luckily no one can see your muck ups driving past when you are using a computer model!
UK is going very well, can't wait for the summer. I've started playing footy over here which has been fun!
What a difference a year does (or doesn't) make. Moved to the other side of the world, but still finding a way to be sowing in the Wimmera Mallee - just swapped a tractor for a laptop!
We've got some interesting results from the BCG and @wimmeracma Soil Amelioration Trial at Netherby are showing some interesting results.
BCG are researching the effects of different soil amelioration techniques on sandy duplex soils in the Wimmera.
Starting to spread urea? Wondering how much N to apply? Unsure of how much nitrogen last years crop took out of the system?
Tune into this workshop at 4PM TODAY to calculate:
- Your yield potential
- How much N to apply in 2020
- If your rotation is building or depleting N
Don’t Forget! @agronomeiste and Harm Van Rees are presenting an interactive digital workshop at 4pm this Wed, join in to learn how to budget Nitrogen requirements to achieve better results and much more.

@wimmeracma
@dyerjonathan@mattrohde8 @cjtaylor_bcg @BCG_Birchip I think the summer rainfall totals are nearly even at the moment, it will be interesting to see how the rest of the season goes. There’s lots more to growing a crop than summer storms, but they sure help!
