Today, I am honored to be sworn in as your county supervisor and vice chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors. alongside our new Chair, Thomas Galvin, and the incredible members of this board.
Thank you to everyone who joined us for this momentous occasion 🧵
Preparing for an election in the nation’s 3rd largest voting jurisdiction is a full-time job and … yes … sometimes requires after-hours work. Our @MaricopaVote staff are fully transparent and we appreciate everything they do so citizens can Vote Confidently.
Three years ago, over 1,100 innocent people were brutally massacred or taken hostage in the attack on Israel. May the victims of this horrible tragedy rest in eternal peace, knowing what was perpetrated upon them will never be forgotten. Our continued prayers for those who survived and also to the grieving families.
Maricopa County is leading the way in both economic development and air quality. Thank you to the EPA for your proposal to approve Rule 204! This incentivizes owners and operators to replace older, higher-emitting equipment with better technology that pollutes less. I appreciate all our government and business leaders who showed their support today and thank you to our Air Quality Department for your brilliant innovation to get this across the finish line.
It was a great day at the G.A.I.N. Kickoff event at Christown Spectrum Mall! There are so many community groups, law enforcement officers, and organizations who care deeply for their neighborhoods. Thank you to everyone for getting involved. Consider attending a G.A.I.N. event.

October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. You can show your support and bring awareness to domestic violence by wearing purple throughout the month of October. During my time on the Governor’s Commission to End Violence Against Women, the AZ Legislature passed consequential reforms to empower survivors to leave their abuser. AZ Point is a no-cost, confidential resource survivors can use to take the first steps in obtaining protection. If you or someone you know is in an abusive relationship, visit https://t.co/lSmbJiklLT
"Our systems and our processes in place are gold standard. I will stand by them, and I will stand by our elections employees to the end."

As chair of the Maricopa County Board of Supervisors, public safety has always been my top priority. Coffee with a Cop is a great opportunity to hear from our officers about the work they are doing. We were lucky enough to have two such events in as many days. Thank you to the Black Mountain and Desert Horizon Police precincts for all you do.
Thank you to ASU’s Mechanics of Democracy Laboratory for hosting the 2026 Fall Elections Convening. The event gave great insight into how our elections work. I was honored to be on the Pillars of the Community panel where I discussed how Maricopa County is prepared for the November election, and what we’re doing to make it a great experience for voters.
Voter registration deadline is October 5th!

The Eviction Prevention Pilot received 900 applications in just four days after opening. Families and accounts like Jennifer’s are the reason Maricopa County developed this pilot. So many households are one missed paycheck or emergency away from being out on the street. This program, even with its limited funds, is making a difference for those who need it most.

Within days of opening a new pilot eviction prevention program in south and east Phoenix, more than 900 people applied for financial assistance, according to Maricopa County.
Thirty percent of Maricopa County’s population is Hispanic and Latino. Their many contributions to our neighborhoods, economy, and culture are a part of not just the county’s identity, but Arizona’s. National Hispanic Heritage Month recognizes that cultural impact.
Arizona lost a pioneer today in Senator Jon Kyl. Senator Kyl worked for decades to secure Arizona’s water future, setting the stage for the amazing growth and economic development we are experiencing. That legacy will continue to carry us forward. My heartfelt prayers go out to his family.
Congratulations to all the business alliances, neighborhood watches and community leaders recognized at the Neighborhood Synergy Conference. It was great seeing new faces and longtime friends who have been supporting their neighborhoods for years. The support you provide to your communities is essential, and know we could not do this without you. Thank you to the City of Phoenix Neighborhood Services Department for hosting this meaningful event that supports our communities.
Today, the 25th anniversary of September 11, we remember the nearly 3,000 souls who lost their lives, as well as their families and friends. We remember the heroism and sacrifice of first responders, and the many people from different walks of life who took extraordinary action to help others. The worst attack in our history strengthened our resolve and joined us together in unity.
The Hatcher Urban Businesses (The HUB) group has done a great job in caring for their community and revitalizing Hatcher Road. Thank you to Caroline Lobo for your dedication to this amazing organization and your partnership with County and City leaders.
Happy Labor Day! Thank you to all the hard-working and dedicated Maricopa County employees who have a passion for public service. After meeting this year’s Maricopa County Rising Star recipients and seeing firsthand the amazing work County employees have done to receive 78 National Association of Counties awards, I couldn’t be prouder of what you do on behalf of our residents.
As many of my District 3 constituents know, the future of the Maricopa County waste transfer stations is under review. When the possibility of closure was raised, many residents in our community let me know how important the Cave Creek Waste Transfer Station is. Thank you!
My priority is to keep the Cave Creek Transfer Station open and this service available to the residents who rely on it. I am working with County officials and exploring reasonable options to accomplish that goal.

Last night was another great evening of a community coming together to share safety updates and current events. Thank you to neighborhood leader extraordinaire Jeff Spellman, Grand Canyon University, and the Ocotillo Glen neighborhood Association for your work in the area.
There has been a lot going on in District 3 over the past month. Maricopa County just wrapped up a very successful Primary election, and we are preparing for the General election in November. Additionally, the County is working on determining the future of the waste transfer stations, and the recently launched Eviction Prevention Pilot program.
