@dshout@paleochristcon Postpartum psychosis, not depression. A psychiatric disorder isn’t a magic legal loophole, and an insanity defense doesn’t mean not guilty = free to have a nice life.
@r33fbn@justradfem You’re really jumping to the most ridiculous conclusions. And acknowledging someone’s mental health played a part in a tragedy doesn’t make someone a supporter.
@Diggelaarsthh@Chaztelo11@dollyqwe1 No one is defending or excusing her because of “hormones.” And comparing testosterone to psychosis doesn’t even remotely work. Jfc educate yourself.
@GrandpaBaz@ReasonBeing Exactly. If your version of accountability requires you to ignore the actual mental state of the defendant, you don’t understand criminal responsibility nearly as well as you think you do.
@heyitkb@bbq_counselor Had the police done a better investigation the prosecution could have had a more solid case. Police never even interrogated Lindsay. The only evidence they have of her confession is through witness testimony. There are too many gaps in their evidence to prove w/o doubt.
@Swiss4Peace@MAGA__Patriot If we are speaking strictly on the LC case that is a valid thing to argue/explore. My issue is OP’s statement being misleading and completely inaccurate. It just sounds good to stupid people so they continue to regurgitate it.
@Nikkon2025@egirlian Asking about her values is one thing. Believing that she could harm their hypothetical children or at the very least is ok with that kind of behavior because she believes mental illness can affect criminal responsibility is an irrational leap in logic .
@NJBeisner Acknowledging the cause of the murders is not excusing the harm. Recognizing her mental health crisis is not defending her actions. If we actually care about preventing these tragedies, we have to be willing to examine the circumstances that contributed to them.
@rtodoeleter@Nikkon2025@egirlian What it’s telling is that these men have already checked out of the relationship and want a reason to break up in a way that makes their girlfriend look like a bad guy.
@mydogsarehungry@SilentPandemic@thatsKAIZEN If the evidence established criminal intent and responsibility as clearly as you’re claiming, the prosecution should be able to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt. But that is exactly what remains disputed in this complex case.
