I missed this! Wow. Thank you @kategarraway for calling out yet another attack on our profession. Totally sick of it. The biggest lie was they want to support teachers
Tristemente, nos ha pasado a todos. Los que no sois docentes ni os podéis imaginar las batallas diarias. Hablad con vuestros hijos en casa, escuchad y educad. 🥹
In 2021, there were 505,633 teachers in English state schools.

Please could everyone help do their bit to help bring about some positive and much needed change for our colleagues and profession.

Carly has been using her allotment to feed people struggling with the cost of living. Last night someone broke in and salted the land to stop her growing.

@katielockett@NASUWT Many thanks - will do this now. My email hasn't arrived yet either and I know the union has my correct contact details because I have countless other emails from them. Frankly pretty disappointed with NASUWT right now.
In my lifetime I have been sexually assaulted by male classmates at school, physically assaulted by drunk men at home, sexually assaulted by boyfriends, threatened physically and verbally by men, intimidated by unknown men whilst walking home, groped, leered at, whistled at, flashed at, you name it at by various men, it’s something that happens regularly to women throughout their lives, and no, it’s not all men, and I still like men, but it is a big problem in society and I worry for my daughter.
I’ve never been assaulted by a gay man or trans woman, and that’s not to say it doesn’t happen, there are bad people in all sections of society, but it’s not the norm, and I know who I’d feel safer around.
Irrational hatred just serves to perpetuate the real issues.
We didn't have parties to "boost morale"
We didn't have quiz nights
We didn't have champagne
We watched our colleagues die though
We were STEEPED in death
We kept going
We had to
We kept on
So don't you DARE say your parties were "necessary" @borisjohnson
You make me sick.
Last night I checked into the emergency department at my local hospital*. I saw firsthand what has happened to the NHS. However much you read, it doesn't prepare you for the terrible reality. This thread tells a now-ordinary but - in this rich nation - almost unbelievable story.
