I hope everyone had a great 4th of July. I know @realDonaldTrump and family did.
250 years ago we declared independence from a king who ran the colonies as a family business. In just 18 months the Trumps have made King George look like an amateur.
A $620 million Pentagon loan, the largest in the program’s history, to a company Don Jr.’s firm bought into three months before.
An Air Force drone contract to a startup the princelings took public through a golf course company they own a piece of.
The Army’s largest drone motor order ever, to a company where Don Jr. sits on the board and holds millions in stock.
A $24 million Pentagon robotics contract to the company that employs Eric as Chief Strategy Advisor.
A stake in the largest undeveloped tungsten deposit on earth, in Kazakhstan, backed by $1.6 billion in US government support.
Jared’s fund seeded with $2 billion from the Saudi crown prince, now $6.2 billion, 99% of it foreign money from Gulf governments. Over $110 million in fees collected from the Saudis alone. He negotiates American foreign policy with the governments that pay him.
$2.3 billion from crypto ventures their father regulates. More than a million people bought in and lost $2.3 billion. The money didn’t grow. It simply moved from the subjects pockets to the crown’s coffers.
And the next one is already drafted. A proposed ATF rule that will allow guns to be shipped straight to your front door. The government’s own estimate is 3.3 million home gun deliveries a year. Don Jr. sits on the board of the online gun megastore built to cash in. He holds 300,000 shares.
And that’s only the fraction they’ve allowed us to see. Not one subpoena served. Not one search executed. Why hide anything when you own the investigators?
Me? They searched a laptop for six years. Federal prosecutors. Grand juries. Subpoena power. Congressional hearings. They found nothing. I made about $200k a year selling paintings when my Dad was President, and they made my paintings part of an impeachment inquiry.
For six years they’ve asked Where’s Hunter? What about the laptop?
Wrong questions. The right one is 250 years old. Does America belong to a family?
They’ve given their answer. Long live the King.
Its funny how everyone's idea of heaven is a complete untouched paradise, crystal clear waters, lush green forests, enough food for everyone, classless, moneyless, stateless, a Utopia of peace, unity andhappiness. But here on earth it's considered a leftist ideology.
A White Supremacist group has now joined Trump’s 250 celebration in D.C. and is now marching to call for the end of immigration.
This is why Trump is a cancer to everything America represents. We defeated nazism in WW2. They want to take us backwards.
THIS CANNOT BE ALLOWED TO HAPPEN!
Trump wants to cut down Washington DC's oldest grove of cherry trees along and eliminate the public biking path and picnic areas so he can build a golf course on public land, using public dollars, and taking spaces away from the public.
Dane County in Wisconsin has finalized an agreement to purchase 165 acres of ancestral land and return it to the Ho-Chunk Nation.
During the 1800s, a series of forced treaties and violent military removals stripped the Ho-Chunk people of their lands in this region.
The land is valued at nearly $6.5 million and includes 6 archaeological sites and 22 ancient burial mounds.
This is a big deal because it's a transfer of land back to Indigenous people, which is what they've been demanding for centuries. All the symbolic gestures in the world are no substitute for the direct return of land with ancestral, cultural, and burial significance to Indigenous people.
.@elonmusk says that no one can name a person who died from his aid cuts. In fact, I've met the kids who are dying, and I've talked to the families who lost children. In my columns, I've cited many, many names of people who have died because of Musk's aid cuts. A few examples:
*Yamah Freeman was a 23-year-old woman who died in childbirth because Musk cut funding for the diesel for ambulances in her part of Liberia. She couldn't get to a hospital and died as people were carrying her there. I talked to her parents and sister in their village.
*Gbessey Kiadu, age 1, died of malaria because of his cuts to malaria medication in Liberia. I talked to his mom in her village.
*Ibrahim Koroma, an infant, died of AIDS in Sierra Leone after he interrupted HIV supplies. I talked to health workers who cared for him.
*Achol Deng was an 8-year-old girl with HIV in South Sudan who died when Musk cut funding for the health care worker who provided her medicines. I talked to the healthcare workers.
I could go on and on. In almost every village you go to in South Sudan, Uganda, Liberia, Sierra Leone or other countries I reported in, you find people dying because of aid cuts. I challenge Musk: Come with me on a reporting trip, and we'll talk to these moms and dads, and you'll see the dying children themselves. I think if you see the kids whose lives are at stake, maybe you'll change your mind.
Bhutan did something almost no country on Earth has done: they put trees in the constitution.
Not a vague "we care about nature" type promise but an actual number. At least 60% of the country must remain under forest cover for all time.
They met the goal and blew past it.
About 70% of Bhutan is forested, which is one reason this small Himalayan country is one of the few carbon-negative nations on Earth. It absorbs more carbon than it emits.
That doesn't mean Bhutan has no emissions. It does. But its forests and land absorb more than the country puts out.
Which is kind of wild when you think about it, because most countries treat forests like a resource to be used and abused as needed.
Bhutan treated them more like national infrastructure. They looked at their forests and decided they weren't just leftover land waiting to be used for something.
Compensation Last Year
CEO of Tesla & SpaceX: $158 billion
CEO of Warner Brothers: $165 million
CEO of Blackstone: $126 million
They pay the same amount into Social Security as someone making $184,500.
Let's end that absurdity, scrap the cap and raise Social Security benefits.

The real threat Zohran Mamdani poses is to the career politicians who’ve spent decades making promises, then making excuses, then telling people to vote harder next time.
He’s showing people that elected officials can actually do things that help them in their everyday lives.
Today I introduced legislation to require that the minimum wage be a living wage. $25 an hour is what’s required for a full time worker to pay their bills, and we shouldn’t accept that full time work leaves people living in poverty.
A truly intelligent species would not contaminate its own drinking water, erode topsoil, collapse wildlife populations, and create chronic disease through its own food system.
The Democratic Party must return to the American people the wealth and power that the obscenely rich have taken from them.
This should be the core Democratic message.
It targets the affordability crisis, corruption, corporate welfare, and crony capitalism.
It shows what must be done.
Host: Trump is still very fascinated with you and your family
@BarackObama: I obviously have a room in his head. A suite. When I was president, the last thing I had time to do was worry what my predecessor did. It shows me somebody who is not focused on the American people and the job they're supposed to do.
Mamdani: We want to make it clear that our city does not simply oppose the actions of ICE, but that we are not going to be complicit with those actions either. And that means making sure that every single city agency is in compliance with our sanctuary city policies.
Now, if you don’t know what a sanctuary city policy is, I’ll describe it this way: it means that we do not allow ICE agents into our schools, our hospitals, our city property unless they can provide a judicial warrant signed by a judge. It means that we don’t assist ICE with their civil immigration enforcement. It means that we make clear that we are proud of our heritage as an immigrant city.
It’s absurd that tech companies are allowed to pass off their electricity costs to residential consumers, and spike everyone’s utility bills.
Nobody screams “socialism” when large corporations socialize their costs and then privatize their profits.
One thing I love is how basically every study says that students do better in school with less homework and later start times and workers do better with more vacation days and shorter shifts, but we do the exact opposite in this country because Puritanical feelings apparently beat facts.
Mamdani: Affordability is not magic. It is not something that can be summoned by words. It must be summoned by deeds.
We must stand up to corporate greed, build affordable housing, and make child care something every family can afford.
And as we speak, there are those hoping to divide the working people of this city, to convince us that the problems we face are not a result of their greed, but instead of our neighbors.
They will do whatever it takes to maintain a broken status quo that benefits the privileged few at the expense of the many. And they think there is no one who will try to stop them.
