I had the smallest imaginable edible and now I can’t stop laughing at how my husband’s shadow at this wine bar rn makes it look like I’m sitting across from a golden retriever
The Ontario Provincial Police has acknowledged that one of its employees did not follow the organization’s policy when an alleged victim of sexual assault called a local detachment earlier this year to report an incident involving 8 former junior hockey players.
The woman - we are referring to her by her middle name Anne Marie, with her permission - says she was 22 when she was raped by 8 OHL players in Nov 2014. She says the players involved in her alleged assault ranged in age from 16 to 19.
A 19-yr-old player invited Anne Marie to watch TV with him and a teammate at his billet home but when she arrived, she discovered 8 players in the basement.
Anne Marie: “I was taken into a bathroom. And that's when the player who invited me over began... starting sexual acts. They never closed the bathroom door fully… And then next thing I know more players start coming in. There’s players standing and watching. They start taking their turns, doing whatever it is they want.”
She didn't report the incident to police until this year.
Anne Marie: “I never told anyone because I thought it was my fault. I thought I was the one that was responsible because I had made the choice to go hang out with this guy and a buddy… I did what I could to just forget it, not think about it, wipe it away. But it just built up inside in the back of my brain...”
