This is exactly why our country keeps repeating the same cycle in politics. Ang bilis kasi nating ma-sway— one celebrity association lang, biglang nag-iiba ang tingin ng tao. People start reframing the narrative, trying to humanize him or find redeeming qualities, habang binabalewala yung mas mabibigat na issues: political dynasty, allegations of corruption, at yung pattern of prioritizing leisure or image over tunay na public service.

And this is also why it becomes a concern for someone as influential as KB. Hindi naman pwedeng sabihin na “personal lang ‘yan,” because with that level of influence and a fanbase na halos kulto na sa loyalty, everything becomes amplified. That kind of influence isn’t neutral—nagiging tool siya, intentionally or not, to soften or even protect people in power who should actually be questioned.
