It’s time to lift the ACA’s restrictions on physician-owned hospitals and let them compete on the same footing as traditional hospitals.

NEW report! Over a third of states have now created new licensing pathways for international doctors - the most promising solution to our shortage.
But medical boards have to implement them. Jonathan Wolfson, @katherinehall07, and I have some ideas to ensure that goes smoothly.

In the last 5 years, over a third of states have passed new pathways to practice. Now they must implement them, and we have ideas.

In last few years, over 1/3 of states passed bills to allow int'l trained docs to get licensed in the US for the first time.
But one major hurdle has always loomed large: Board certification.
Thankfully, at least one Board is changing their rules.

A new program from leading internal medicine org ABIM marks a major step toward removing certification barriers for internationally trained physicians (ITPs).
This echoes Niskanen's call for greater recognition of ITPs earlier this year.
