@duncan_dine The warden I spoke to seemed to think it was due to last year being so poor, ie wet spring then a cold spell in June. He thought it might take a year or two for the numbers to recover.

Fly orchid at the side of Daisy Bank this morning, we only found 2 plants this year, one right in front of the fence and one behind it.

Large Blue butterfly at Daneway banks - one one seen, think the cold weather has delayed them - this is apparently a female and fairly recently emerged.

@duncan_dine I’ll definitely go and look. Wonderful numbers of fragrant orchids in the other part of the butterfly reserve, the first time I’d seen those.
