THE RIVER WILD (1994) is absolutely one of my top 5 movies of all time (not a surprise since I write survival mysteries/thrillers), but RIVER WILD (2023)...what were they trying to do here?
Just a heads up that the ebook for Vanishing Edge is $1.99 today on Amazon and B&N!

@ParanormalJunk2 Yeah that's definitely me, way too tired to write at night or early morning, I've got a high-pressure day job and three kids who constantly need me, and if I can write a chapter a week, it's a win.
It's been a while since I've read a book in a day (including at my 3 y/o's gymnastics class, where he got injured and I didn't even notice), but I was utterly captivated by EVERY SUMMER AFTER by @CarleyFortune.
Finished edits on Book 3 in my National Park Mystery series, which means I'm thinking hard about Book 4...first step is to buy a topographical map of my chosen locale. #amwriting 🌲🌨️🏞️🦌
@LeilaSalesBooks Some screenwriters do this, but definitely not all. It's generally done to emphasize a place or thing within a block of action. I would never do it as I find that readability is more important than stage direction (the most recent episode of Scriptnotes covered this).
Spent the weekend on vacation with my 5 y/o and thanks to no internet whatsoever, I got to read two fantastic books: The Island by @adrianmckinty and Aurora by David Koepp. Both are about ordinary people doing extraordinary things to survive, ie my favorite genre.
