We don’t need #BellLetsTalk ........ we need equitable wrap around support services with trauma informed service providers that not only care for those when it’s “easy”. Why are we not talking about the lack of supports for folks with psychosis, schizophrenia, bipolar, BPD?!
If you have access to a psychologist, psychiatrist, a general practitioner, and other methods of mental health care — I am happy for you! And it is also a privilege to have navigated a broken system successfully.
Capitalizing off of people experiencing mental health crisis is unethical. Talking stigma instead of talking about the corrupt systems that gate keep vulnerable people from accessing help is irresponsible and harmful.
Not new news, our active allyship towards Black folks must be daily and not based in how often we can virtue flag on social media. Today is Martin Luther King Jr Day. Move some funds, pay up to Black folks in your communities. #MLKDay#PayBlackfolks
