⚠️ High tides forecast upstream of the #ThamesBarrier today.
The Barrier is NOT closing as no property flooding is expected.
Monitoring the forecasts during my shifts today and tomorrow as a small tidal surge is forecast for Saturday which could generate another high tide.
A spring tide meeting the high river flows coming down the #Thames means we'll have a high tide upstream of Putney this afternoon.
⚠️ The forecast for tomorrow is higher still and we're making plans for a #ThamesBarrier closure tomorrow.
As it's my shift tomorrow, I'll update.
⚠️ Yellow weather warning issued ⚠️

There is a lot of surface water following the rain from Storm Chandra.
We urge people not to walk or drive though flood water – it is often deeper than it looks. Just 30cm of flowing water is enough to float your car.
