@ryanegorman@RyanSchmelzFOX Next time you discuss AI Data Center opposition include how this “grass roots” movement got started. https://t.co/ZCxHxBZ6aS
@ClayTravis Officiating is ruining college football. Every week there are crazy controversies. I would think @ClayTravis would recognize it. Not a great day for college football.
A Catholic professor put Talarico on the spot over abortion last night, and it was BRUTAL.
“If you can’t support policies to protect the most innocent among us, the unborn child, how can we trust you to protect the rest of Texans?”
That’s the question every pro-abortion politician should have to answer. 🔥
Good job by NBC bringing officiating expert Terry McAulay back on the air to say the only explanation for putting a second back on the clock was if the synchronization of clock/play used by the officials differed from ones we all saw on TV.
@ClayTravis@BlackAce90 College Football is going to lose fans if they don’t correct this. Did you see @ReceDavis act like the refs can’t create just decide to add a second. Every commentator needs to demand this to be corrected. Michigan should agree to forfeit. All credibility is lost.
@JoeConchaTV@ReceDavis just said “I think it was a terrible call that they gave them a second but they did and what a pass and catch”. I feel like I’m loosing my mind. Refs can’t create and give extra time!!!
So, President Trump gives a prime time address from the White House less than a week ago about China attempting to compromise our elections and yet today, many members of his Cabinet -in charge of leading federal agencies - are touting new accounts on illegal TikTok? Come on.
I’ve just finished reading Gad Saad’s book Suicidal Empathy.
It ranks, along with Chris Rufo’s America’s Cultural Revolution: How the Radical Left Conquered Everything and Helen Pluckrose and James Lindsay’s Cynical Theories, as the best take-down of the lunacy at the heart of the wokeist philosophy.
For Saad, empathy—in itself a perfectly decent trait—has become so grossly exaggerated that it threatens truth, reality, and justice.
Cases in point abound: so they won’t feel bad about themselves, we’ll allow biological men to compete in women’s sports and crush the dreams of thousands of young women; so as not to undermine the self-esteem of minorities, we will permit unqualified candidates to have positions in universities and the corporate world; so that everyone might feel included, we will characterize the meritocracy as “white privilege,” etc.
As I was making my way through Saad’s book, I kept remarking the sharp distinction between empathy and love.
To empathize is to enter profoundly into the experience of another and to endeavor not to hurt that person’s feelings. But to love is, as Thomas Aquinas taught, “to will the good of the other.”
As I said, in itself and all things being equal, empathy is a good thing. But it is not the same as love, which, depending on circumstances, can very much involve hurting someone’s feelings.
When a professor gives a student a “C” as an honest reflection of his work, he might well be insulting him, but he’s also telling him the truth and perhaps even urging him to try harder.
When, in the Confessional, a priest tells a murderer to turn himself in to the police, he’s undoubtedly making that person’s life more uncomfortable, but he’s also willing the man’s good.
Any decent parent knows that showing real love for her children means engendering all kinds of bad feelings in them.
In light of this distinction, we can understand why Jesus didn’t say, “have empathy for one another,” but rather “love one another.” And why St. John the Evangelist didn’t say, “God is empathy,” but rather “God is love.”
It occurred to me as I was reading Saad’s book that one reason Wokeism has seized the consciousness of so many in the West is that Christianity has faded as a cultural force and Christians themselves have forgotten what stands at the heart of their faith.
🚨Zlatan Ibrahimovic on VAR after Croatia’s last-minute equaliser vs Portugal was ruled out:*
This referees are doing everything possible for Ronaldo to win the world cup but they will say Messi is the FIFA boy , This ball was never an Offside because the ball didn't touch the Croatia player , This is pure daylight robbery.
"The referee and VAR have just erased what should have been one of the greatest moments of this World Cup.”
"Let’s be clear: if you’re going to cancel a goal in the 90th minute, the evidence has to be beyond doubt. I’ve watched the incident multiple times, from every angle, and I still don’t see anything conclusive enough to overturn it.”
"If you’re in that VAR room for minutes, pausing, zooming, drawing lines to a shoulder, a boot, a heel… it’s not clear and obvious. And if it’s not clear, the goal must stand. That’s the whole point of VAR.”
"The referee has allowed technology to become the main character. But fans don’t fill stadiums or stay up late to watch a screen. They come for football — for drama, for emotion, for moments you remember forever.”
"Croatia showed real fight. They dug in, they scored late, they thought they’d earned a dramatic equaliser to keep their dream alive. Then one decision ripped it away, and that decision will be argued about for years.”
"This is why confidence in VAR is collapsing. It’s no longer fixing obvious mistakes. It’s hunting millimeters that nobody in the stadium can see with their own eyes. That’s not what football is supposed to be.”
"I feel for those Croatian players more than anything. You celebrate, you believe your World Cup is back on, and then it’s gone in seconds. For me, the referee on the pitch and VAR in the booth both got it wrong.
As I have reported several times and now acknowledged by the Governor of California...Gavin and his wife are under federal investigation... what he failed to tell you... This began during the Biden Admin. Kind of a big detail.
🚨 HOLY CRAP! Trump Interior Sec. Doug Burgum just revealed he found NGOs where up to 100% PERCENT of their revenue was the federal government...
...and their CEO would make $650K a YEAR, and pay lobbyists $400K.
He exposes it: "We found organizations that were receiving grants from Interior, where 80 to 100 percent of the revenue of that NGO was a grant from the federal government."
"And yet those organizations, we were the sole source of their revenue, but they would have a CEO making $650,000 and four $400,000 lobbyists!" @RapidResponse47
Dems are FURIOUS the Trump admin is cracking down on this!
Keep pushing!
