Has there been any discussion on an option to forgo the foreign tax credit (simple 1065 w/ investment acct including the credit) on the return to save the trouble of the #K2K3 and added costs to clients? Would penalties apply for incorrect filing? Anyone heard?

@GlenBirnbaum@IRSnews Has there been any discussion on omitting the foreign tax credit on the return (simple 1065 with investment acct with small credit)? For small credits, it could save professional fees. Would the return be subject to penalties for incorrect filings?

PPP forgiveness as income - does it happen in the year forgiven OR the year of the loan? I know the rule says the expenses are nondeductible, which leads to year of loan - BUT what if you don't ask for forgiveness until 2021??
