We have to get faster PCR tests if we want a shot at keeping up with this new variant. This is going to get bad really really quickly.

Does your state offer free rapid PCR tests?

(Wednesday) I rapid test negative
(Friday) I wake up with a sore throat. I’m alerted by S I may have been exposed Tuesday. I rapid test negative.
(Sunday) I take a PCR, positive

Rapid tests are NOT working in the infection period. You can spread with zero symptoms.

(Tuesday) I go to dinner with S. S is healthy, vaccinated, boosted and zero symptoms.
(Wednesday) S finds out they had an exposure so takes a rapid test, it’s negative
(Thursday) S Takes a PCR (results come Saturday, positive)
(Friday) S takes a rapid test, positive
