Admiring this queen, who ever she is! @PerformInterp from all the way back in block 509. Fellow interpreter here who’s enjoying a day off but can’t help but scout out interpreters in action. Slayyyyy! 🥰❤️ https://t.co/T4uutPiEtl
My week as a BSL/English interpreter:
Monday - a graduation
Tuesday - bricklaying course
Wednesday - day off
Thursday - a birth…
I mean, I am so privileged and feel so lucky that the Deaf community welcome me so openly to witness major life milestones! Best job ever
@suemaclaine You are right, I know other Deaf people would prefer me not to be there during these moments, as they are highly personal. I guess I feel lucky that this week everyone has been kind and welcoming, because sharing in their happiness was very beautiful.
@jdfreeradio Whilst I like Producer Paul’s logic about not being able to go back in time, his answer of 12:06am would still be incorrect, because using his logic, the closest time to midnight (if we weren’t going back in time) would be 11:55am
I mentioned a couple of weeks ago I awaited news from my university lecturers regarding my @NRCPD registration…well it was positive! 🤩 I think @SarahBown12 will understand this photo very well 😝 thanks to the whole team at Wolves uni 🤍 @ThaisaHughes @SprattBSL@drcastone
@SelinaJBSL Thank you Selina! I know the badge doesn’t define the interpreter I am today, I’ll continue to be as hard working and eager to learn no matter what colour the badge is! ☺️
Feeling very nervous that in a weeks time I will know if I can register as an RSLI or have to stick with my purple badge for a bit longer. It’s been such a whirlwind of a year, leaving uni, starting a career, having a baby. I hope the hard work has paid off 🤞🏼
@dearellamumby Offers further training, which I believe is the NVQ route. They offer to pay 50% of the training fee whilst I would pay the other half. So from my understanding, you don’t have to do the MA to become RSLI. But i have heard amazing things about the MA. Hope that helps :) 2/2
@dearellamumby Hi Ella, so I graduated with a 1st last year but didn’t automatically become RSLI. I currently hold a TSLI badge but I am collecting evidence to submit to lecturers to hopefully become RSLI, if I had finished with a 2:1 or don’t manage to submit evidence, my current employer…1/2
