Taylor’s engagement ring is not just gorgeous and classy and perfectly HER, it’s also practical in the sense that it appears to sit flatter on her finger than many other huge celebrity diamonds. That means that she can still USE HER HANDS. Do you all understand what I’m saying? Travis could have given her the most over-the-top impractical ring imaginable. He can afford it. But I don’t think he viewed the ring as a status symbol or as part of their public personas. This ring was designed for the real Taylor - the woman who loves to sew, cook, paint, decorate, hold babies, and play with her cats. She is not a celebrity who sits back and lets people do everything for her. She gets her hands dirty. And I think he designed a ring for that person - not for the paparazzi to snap photos of. He was thinking of their life together and their future, not just some flashy huge diamond to present to the world as a trophy that screams “I won! I got the girl! I’m a rich celebrity!” This is a ring that Taylor can live in off camera. This is a ring that she can wear while playing music and writing and baking. This is a ring that she won’t have to take off in order to do the things she loves. This ring is personal - it fits her style, was custom designed for her with thought and care by someone who really knows her, and has special meaningful details. But more than anything, it was not designed with the world in mind, it was designed with HER in mind. It’s not gaudy and ostentatious. It doesn’t scream “I’m a celebrity, take a picture!” It’s a ring that says “the long, full, happy life that we will live together is what’s important,” because he has given her a ring that she can actually LIVE in for the rest of her life.
