Can we do urban design in Britain to create spaces for play and socialising when it rains? It seems like so many activities are cancelled by the rain, which then impacts people’s moods. “It’s a miserable day” Nope, it’s just raining. Imagine if our world was set up for rain

I met with a group of teenagers yesterday. One of their teachers had suggested that I talk to them about career paths because they're all anxious about exams, university choices and future work.
Instead of talking to them, I listened, and the actual problem was very different.

We have *extraordinary* productive capacities. We can do virtually anything. Renewable energy? Integrated public transit? Regenerative farming? High-quality affordable housing for all? DONE. But we are prevented from doing these things because they are not profitable to capital.

So there's this artist named Xavi Bou that makes these time lapse photos of bird flight

He takes photos of them continuously as they fly so a single bird looks like a trail as it moves across the sky.

They're incredible photos, but there's another reason I find them cool 🧵

@MartinSLewis Unfortunately electric cars aren’t really the solution whilst our methods of generating electricity aren’t renewable, you can only be as circular as your supplier

@Tonkable I am very burnt out and making work with Instagram as the ‘end goal’ meant I made work that felt very shallow and kinda pointless to the point it’s crept into my identity and is now how I see all of my work
