@MonsterRatPack@clhubes Ew. No. That would never fly in my group! In fact, we have a whole rule about how "everyone is worthy" and no one needs to prove their need/hardship, either in an ISO or when picking a recipient.
Love that @weischoice is bringing attention to this phenomenon. Managing ~stuff~ takes up an extraordinary amount of my time since becoming a parent. I also do nearly all my BN pickups myself. 🤷♀️
My piece on the gender imbalance of labor in Buy Nothing groups is up and guess what, moms bear the brunt of the work. Surprise! https://t.co/5TYEfYDe7e
For @CapTimes, I wrote about the "buy nothing" economy/community, along with a sidebar on touring the Dane County landfill (tours are free & open to the public — highly recommend!).
Call it freecyling, hippie Christmas or Buy Nothing — an underground economy with thousands of participants is flourishing around Madison. https://t.co/O3FR5bEtrb
this quote has stayed with me since I read @Katjusa's reporting on grassroots canvassing in Milwaukee:
“If I feel safe enough, then I’ll bring up women’s rights.”

I wrote for @BoltsMag about GOTV efforts in Milwaukee for the April 4 #WISupremeCourt election: https://t.co/igs9K4kxE2 Very grateful to editor @taniel for his shaping of this piece.
@farwent Because you're offering a scenario with reasonable concessions/allowances that he can accept or not accept. You're not demanding. (Also imo life cannot grind to a halt for every sniffle. We have tools at our disposal to mitigate risk.)
@garrettbucks When I was 8 or 9 ('89 or '90), I was so into Prairie Home Companion that I would record it onto a cassette tape on my boombox. To listen to again later, I guess? Idk 🤣
I lived just a few miles away when this happened and remember being devastated reading the short news item that appeared in the paper about it at the time. Such an important investigation by @msanchezMIA and @mrym_jml.
Last summer @mrym_jml and I began looking into the death of an 8-year-old Nicaraguan boy on a Wisconsin dairy farm. What we found was a story of an accumulation of failures in overlapping systems: immigration, labor, policing.
We hope you can read.

@MauraJudkis We had one of these tables with two seats for our twins. They used it for two years. SO easy to clean. Hands-down the best baby gear purchase (OXO Perfect Pull wipes dispenser is a close second).
@sj_barlament@MauraJudkis Haha, classic clickbait! And when it comes to free shit, we all have to draw the boundaries that make sense for us. I would be a HARD pass on that animatronic monkey. 🙈
Wellll, I'm outed in a national newspaper of record as a "complete Buy Nothing freak" who wears used underpants... ☠️ This story by @MauraJudkis was fun to read:
