'A clear injustice that has tragically led to suicides.' When I wrote this, 9 suicides were linked to the #loancharge. Tragically, the number of reported suicides now stands at 11.
@Dan4Barnet which is it for the #LoanChargeScandal and the pennies you are collecting for each pound you are spending to chase people for money that doesn't exist.
@nobigfish@ContractorNews_@jamesmurray_ldn@HouseofCommons When Opposition MPs are assigned Treasury minister posts in Govt, it is painfully obvious that personal and political survival become hitched to prevailing HMT and HMRC mindsets. Both of which are painfully aware that the #LoanCharge is a can of worms that must remain sealed.
@DavidGauke It is embarrassing agreed, but are you equally embarrassed by your part in #LoanChargeScandal?
Two, soon to be three, failed reviews into policy which has led to 11 #LoanChargeSuicides as #FOI's renewal HMRC spent £186m recovering £44m over 6 years.

Nigel Farage's work over the last 11 weeks broken down:
- Parliamentary votes registered (including on immigration): 0
- Violent racial divisions stoked: 1
@LC_2019_Scandal@ContractorNews_@RachelReevesMP There it is again, with that word 'independent' (review, inquiry or enquiry - whatever). The #LoanCharge direction of travel is for Govt never to allow such without already knowing the outcome. Or eventually face a messy #POHorizon kind of reckoning...
@Dan4Barnet Get a grip of the civil servants who are killing people with the retrospective #LoanChargeScandal - that review is hopelessly flawed. You clearly do not understand enough about it.
@TheRising_Moon@gregwrightYP@yorkshirepost As we know from recent FOI, the #LoanCharge policy is costing roughly four times as much as the revenues recovered. Therefore money was never the main aim. Loan promoters and enablers consistently not targeted. But contractors and SMEs herded forcefully back to PAYE under MTD.
@Dan4Barnet The Blame Game - Why have #LoanCharge scandal victims taken all the blame while #HMRC allow the Promoters Walk free?

@donedgley1@ProfLAppleby Said behavioural psychologists guided a very aggressive HMRC 'Tiger's Roar' campaign with a strapline of "Making it Real", with heavy emotive gaslighting nudge content embedded in tax demand letters dropped in letterboxes close to bank holidays, birthdays and anniversaries, etc.
@ProfLAppleby It was years after HMRC's hard-line retrospective #LoanCharge tax policy, amid mounting suicides, that they began 'partnering with' Samaritans, redirecting desperate callers who managed to get through on their phone line. Neither the gaslighting HMRC letters nor suicides abated.
