Hah - it happens! I try to be thorough but when you have 30+ applicants recruiters who are trying to get people responses (month long waits suck) can skim.

A interesting conversation is how the real resume looks. Maybe a case for your fake one showing better comm skills.

If you are a boss and the employee cannot safely come to you with a problem without a solution, you're a bad boss.

Many times people are new, it's a sensitive topi, or more. I want there to be ZERO barriers for my team to bring up a issue

#1 Offer solutions, not problems

We tend to go straight to the issue.

🚫 “This won’t work because of X.”

✅ “X will make this difficult. But if we do Y, then it has a greater chance of success.”

This shows you’re proactive and solution-oriented.

@ctrlshifti As a software manager that is hiring, why would I not hire someone who will be transparent with their thoughts?? The only thing more awkwardly cringe than an uncomfortable interview is the british version of the office.
