Maybe someone has tried to name you average, not talented, unattractive, too many mistakes. God is saying to you, “I’m changing your name. I’m renaming you son of strength, daughter of destiny, child of influence, child of greatness.”
I was so moved to see Justice Ketanji Brown Jackson confirmed this afternoon. Like so many of you, I can’t help but feel a sense of pride—a sense of joy—to know that this deserving, accomplished Black woman will be a part of the highest court in the land.
I don’t have any tweets about his work, about injustice or legislation today, family.
I just want to remember a father on his 93rd birthday.
Missing him.
Let God fight your battles. Let God be your vindicator. You’re not supposed to engage in every conflict. Don’t fight battles that are not between you and your destiny. Most of the things that come against us are simply distractions.
People judge by the outside. They’ll try to write you off, but they don’t know what God put in you. They can’t see your seeds of greatness. God loves to take people that others discount, others discredit, and show out in their life.
God is greater! He’s greater than your addictions, your financial needs, your sickness...greater than a painful past, a bleak future, or the difficulty of being a single parent. With God on your side and the strength of the Holy Spirit, you can do whatever you need to do!
