one of the hardest lessons to learn is that you don’t have to work hard to receive love. you don’t have to perform to get love. you can do nothing, exist and deserve love. it’s so ingrained in some of our brains that love doesn’t come easy that we start working for it every time

When you're desperate for love, you'll tolerate disrespect & bare minimum efforts. When you respect yourself & know your worth, you won't settle for anything just so you have something. Your self-love has to be LOUDER than your desire to be loved.
calling my lover "mine" but not in the way that my toothbrush or notebook are mine, mine in the way my neighborhood is mine, and also everybody else's, "mine" like mine to tend to, mine to care for, mine to love. "mine" not like possession but devotion.
