A very special reunion...

This little beauty, Miss N, came into our care after her owner suddenly collapsed and was taken to hospital. The police contacted us to assist with fostering Miss N and we did and she was kept safe while her owner received the urgent medical care they needed.

Thankfully, there was never any risk of Miss N being rehomed. She simply needed a safe, loving place to stay until her owner was well enough and contactable.
When the day finally came for them to be reunited, there wasn't a dry eye.

The tears, the emotions and the overwhelming relief were truly unforgettable.
Moments like these remind us why we do what we do.
At Dogs on the Streets, we don't work to arbitrary timescales. We care for dogs for as long as necessary, ensuring they remain safe, loved and well looked after until their owners are fit, able and ready to continue their journey together.
We were honoured to be able to support both Miss N and her owner during such a difficult time, and we wish them many more happy years together.

Please, we are desperate. We have been inundated over the past few weeks with services ,clients London ambulance service, emergency services reaching out to us for help because everywhere just closes their door or say NO!!
we don’t want to have to say no but we are really heading that way because unfortunately there are other expenses to run a charity. Anything you can do would be so supportive.

🚨 URGENT HEAT WARNING🚨

The forecast is now showing temperatures of up to 37°C, here at Foster Sanctuary we are deeply concerned.

We currently have 90 dogs in our care. Some are elderly, some have thick double or triple coats, and some are recovering from illness too

Keeping every single one of them safe during this extreme heat is a huge operation.

Our team will be starting work from 5–6am each morning and working right through until the evening to make sure every dog stays as cool, hydrated and comfortable as possible.
It's like organising a military operation, with cooling routines, fresh water, shaded areas, cooling mats, ice toys, frozen treats, hydration drinks and constant monitoring throughout the day.

We're also making sure our amazing staff are looked after, because these conditions are challenging for everyone.

Our thoughts are also with the dogs living on our streets alongside their homeless owners. As always, we will be on standby to help , but we know the coming days are going to be incredibly difficult.

Even in the temperatures we've experienced today, we've already seen dogs struggling. The next few days could become life-threatening for many.

🐾 Please help us spread this message:
• Walk your dog very early in the morning or late in the evening.
• Never leave a dog in a car, not even for a few minutes.
• Make sure they have constant access to fresh water and shade.
• Avoid hot pavements, which can burn paws in seconds.
• If your dog doesn't need exercise, skip the walk. A missed walk is far safer than heatstroke.

Please keep an eye out for any dog that appears to be in distress and, if you can, offer water to dogs you may see with homeless owners.
These next few days will test us all, but together we can help keep every dog as safe as possible.

A Quick Update Before I Take a Short Break

I’m taking a 5 day break, but before I go, I wanted to pop on here and share a few urgent needs for our sanctuary/ charity .

Right now, we are desperately in need of adult wet dog food, puppy wet food, and poo bags.
These essentials are running low, and keeping our dogs fed and cared for is our top priority.

We also wanted to mention our ongoing fundraising efforts. We are still working hard to reach our targets, and every donation, no matter the size, makes a real difference.

Food donations are our most urgent need at the moment, but any support, whether through donating supplies, contributing to our fundraiser, or sharing this post is greatly appreciated.

just wanted to come on here this evening and speak from the heart.

This past month has honestly broken me in ways I can’t even explain. Behind the scenes, I’ve been working every single day trying to hold this charity together , supporting emergency cases, fixing accounts, helping my team, answering messages, and trying to make sure the dogs still get fed, rescued, warm and safe.

But on Tuesday evening, I lost my Mum.

And the truth is… I haven’t even had time to grieve.

The charity still needs me 24/7. The dogs still need us. The messages don’t stop. The bills don’t stop. The suffering on the streets doesn’t stop. And somehow, through tears and exhaustion, I’ve kept typing, kept fighting, kept going because giving up simply isn’t an option when innocent souls rely on you.

To make things harder, I’ve also caught Covid and it’s completely knocked me sideways, but I’m still here doing everything I can.

I will try to stay active over the weekend and update everyone as much as possible, but from next week I need to take a little time out. I need to grieve my Mum. I need to be with my children. I need to breathe for a moment because I am running on empty.

Thankfully, I have the most incredible team around me and I know they will continue keeping everything going while I step back for a short while.

To every single person who supports us ,thank you. Truly. Your kindness keeps this charity alive during some of the darkest moments imaginable.
