It always blows my mind how overly focused the playerbase is on balance in this game. I don't think I've ever encountered a playerbase in any other game that is this obsessed with balance. I've played card games where balance is far more important to the game itself and I remember far less people publicly complaining about it.

Pretty sure in every other game people just simply play a different deck, use different cards, pick a different character or weapon, do something different in your own gameplay to overcome imbalances rather than incessantly complain about it while doing nothing yourself to improve your game experience.

The real icing on the cake is, such as the quote Freedo is referencing here, a lot of playerbase takes on balance are laughably offbase and not even close to the reality of the current balance/meta.

This genuinely might just be hero shooter problem. Combination of excessive one tricks who get upset when their hero is nerfed/their counter is buffed and also people who just like to externalise blame when they lose games instead of admitting that maybe they just didn't play well 🤷‍♂️

Not only does this serve to undermine the main story prequels are doomed to always live in the shadow of, it also hems the prequel itself in; rather than telling its own story, it feels compelled to contort its story around a series of checkbox references
