Another successful launch! 🚀

Our Pelican-3 and Pelican-4 satellites safely entered orbit today on @SpaceX's Falcon 9 rocket.

After making contact with these satellites, we’re celebrating another big milestone for Pelican.

Our Pelicans combine high-resolution, rapid tasking, and onboard AI capabilities (via @nvidia's Jetson platform) to meet customer needs in a rapidly changing world.

Planet plans to continue expanding the Pelican fleet this year: stay tuned! 🛰️

We’re thrilled to share this first set of images from our hyperspectral satellite, Tanager-1, designed to monitor and help mitigate methane emissions. These scenes of Karachi, Pakistan represent just a fraction of the 420 different spectral bands that Tanager captures across Earth’s surface.

Mission success!

We are so thrilled to share that our first hyperspectral satellite Tanager-1 successfully launched into orbit and made contact with our team.

With Tanager-1 in orbit, we’ve expanded our capabilities, capturing phenomena that are invisible to the human eye, and helping to reveal greenhouse gasses in our atmosphere.

With 36 SuperDoves, we aim to replenish our extensive PlanetScope constellation, capturing a near-daily scan of planet Earth.
