If Taylor Swift were a rightwing male public figure, I guaran-damn-tee you the folks whining about her being a "distraction" in the NFL now wouldn't be nearly as vocal.

This isn't about distraction or supposed respect for the game (ridiculous). It's about politics and sexism.

She is so undeniably powerful that her gravitational pull alters the almighty NFL's commerce-driven orbit. No woman is supposed to have that much influence on the business of professional football and no progressive woman at that.

It annoys them, and it scares them.

And maybe they should be scared.
