🚨 Trump is instructing Republicans to shut down the government if they don’t pass the SAVE Act, which would prevent millions of eligible American citizens from voting.
The bill is based on MAGA misinformation and lies about voting and noncitizens.
Get the facts:
▪️ Only eligible citizens vote in American elections. Trump and MAGA have never offered any proof otherwise.
▪️ It’s already illegal for non-citizens to vote in federal elections. States have secure systems in place to prevent it and those who violate the law face severe penalties.
▪️ The SAVE Act is so extreme that even a drivers license wouldn’t be enough documentation for most Americans to register to vote.
▪️ Americans would not be able to use military IDs or Tribal IDs alone when registering to vote.
▪️ It would apply to all new registrants — including already-registered voters who update their registration as the result of a move, a name change, or a party switch.
▪️ People who have changed their names, including millions of married women, would not be allowed to use their birth certificates when proving their citizenship.
This bill is fueled by MAGA misinformation and conspiracy theories. They want to set the stage for an attempt to overturn the results of the 2024 elections so they can take power and pass an extreme Project 2025 agenda.
Instead of spreading misinformation we should pass the Freedom to Vote Act and John Lewis Voting Rights Act. The two bills work in tandem to protect our freedom, democracy, and right to vote.
@chronicallybeee COVID aside, long before 2020 I have worn masks for flu and colds to just try and contain the illness, especially with our abysmal sick time in the US.

@acweyand Look at them closely, though. Some of the cheap ones have accessible magnets or tear/break easier. Love them, but had some bad experiences with cheap ones.
@EruditeElf I think we write up or fire at least 10 staff a year for it. My org has over 1k employees, so not a huge percentage, but a regular occurrence.
READER: Should it surprise us that MAGAs are going after Sen. Burch for having the humanity and the strength to discuss such a difficult personal situation in order to help people understand the cruel implications of a GOP ban? ME: No. https://t.co/Iw8rHWuohk via @azcentral
@thanh_neville We buy 4 a year minimum - 2 kids, school and home. Luckily, the spacers last longer, because the insurance doesn't cover them at all and they are $60 a piece.
