at some point we as a society have to stop answering political corruption with whataboutism and hold people accountable in the moment w/o rhetoric of what the "other side did"
it's a zero-sum game
don't know when the paradigm shift happens but if not now then when?
every TX contesting property tax valuations need to understand the circuit breaker limitation especially if property suddenly went over the $5 mill
then need to be on phone asking why #TXLege is playing headline games in Austin instead anything meaningful for property tax relief
@taylorfarmwife this month we’re paying ~24% more to have our American bred, born and raised beef processed that we only sell locally
they are born on our property and processed at local processor and sold locally
the thing everyone says they want
but HEB beef is cheaper, so for long????
and there you have it
got the email I expected
our processor is raising prices across the board and adding additional fees
not b/c they’re slow, they’re booked out, and I suspect with drought they aren’t slowing
b/c they’re about to pay 📈 on packaging/labels/equipment
a whole lot of “we have to make the cuts even if people lose jobs and it seems harsh because we have to bring down the deficit” are real quiet on this
we are either all in on drastic cuts or we admit it’s all performative and a con lead by the biggest conman
Fox News Chief National Security Correspondent Jennifer Griffin: “The estimated cost of the Army 250th birthday parade on June 14, which coincides with President Trump’s birthday, has grown in size and scale as of two weeks ago and could cost between $25 million and $45 million.”
@taylorfarmwife the reality is, even American made is going to be hit hard
especially when the American consumer base is accustomed to “pay less” they will buy the cheaper item
it’s why companies moved offshore to begin with - profit margins because the consumer wants it cheaper
@taylorfarmwife I’m not shedding tears over the people who started drop shipping cheap goods businesses… but even for those who make an American product, they require supplies
they cannot compete with Walmarts who can and will control their own supply lines
@taylorfarmwife the worse is the tax credits for the elite while the average person will pay more
the worse is helping large corporations while small businesses will collapse and close this month
@taylorfarmwife a whole lot of “young folks don’t know how to control their spending or balance a budget or they could afford a house” folks are justifying spending hundreds of millions on frivolity
it’s baffling
@taylorfarmwife I’m just so over performative politics - on both sides
I don’t agree with all the cuts nor how they were done, but I’d accept them more if we weren’t blowing money on golf trips and this
@musharbash_b there’s some wild loose labeling going on here, that or a slight of hands thing… even through fermentation, to get true whey protein they started with a WPC/lactose… which come from cows
My take: Dollar Generals are not good for your health, your community, or your wallet. They are a parasitic leach on small towns and only add to the decline of rural America.
If we lived in a functioning democracy, Congress would be holding hearings on the findings in this article next week, and following up on those hearings with industry-by-industry investigations into the skyrocketing share of revenues being captured by corporate profits.
