The Arizona Department of Health Services has granted the City of Maricopa’s request for an initial Certificate of Authority to operate ground ambulance transport services.

Residents should always have a say in how growth happens in their community. SB 1431 strips the voice of the people from the process and provides no actual affordability guarantee for homebuyers. Vote NO!
Local design standards ensure the same quality for every type of housing – including affordable homes.❌ SB1431 eliminates these standards, allowing developers to use lower-quality materials and leave out basic features. Homes can be affordable, well-built, attractive, and functional.📢Tell your legislator to vote NO on SB1431 to protect safe, durable, quality construction for all Arizonans.
Had a chance to catch up with some of the leadership from the City of Maricopa this morning.
Great progress is being made on the SR 347 Widening Project, which is scheduled to begin this summer.
Many thanks to our LD16 legislators for holding the line against these bills. If HB 4030 / HCR 2052 had been enacted last year, SR347 wouldn’t be moving towards construction today.
📢City leaders across Arizona have pushed back on the proposal, arguing HB4030/HCR2052 intrudes on local budget decisions and could disrupt critical infrastructure planning like repairing State Route 347.

Why is the legislature trying to limit what cities and towns can do? On PBS Horizon, the @CityofChandler Mayor explains why local government, the level closest to the people, must retain the ability to make local decisions.❌ He warns HB4030 would have “tremendous negative results.” ❌🎥 Watch the full interview:

Today I had the pleasure of giving the City of Maricopa Youth Council a tour of the Capitol and spent time talking about how government works. Seeing young leaders take an interest in public service and learn more about the legislative process is always encouraging. The future of Arizona is bright! ☀️
Maricopa’s future leaders in action! Great day at the Capitol learning about our state legislature and future opportunities. And many thanks to our LD16 team for making it happen!!
🏛️Maricopa's Youth Council toured the Arizona Capitol, debated bills on the House floor, met @ChrisLopezAZ & @TJShope, and explored legislative careers.
If HB4030/HCR2052 had been law last year, @CityofMaricopa couldn’t have acted in time to fix one of the most "dangerous highways in the West." In 2025, Maricopa voters approved a ½-cent sales tax to widen SR 347. Without that flexibility, the project would have been delayed, risking more crashes, injuries, and lives.

Absolutely devastated as a #CapsFan. Carlson was my favorite player on the team. Consistent. Hard-working. Great teammate. He exemplifies what we want our young athletes to be. Congrats Ducks, you win. 😭 🏒
