Today Hawaii became the ninth state to receive support from our Rural Healthcare Program. Our first grant goes to Wilcox Medical Center (@Wilcox_Health) on Kauai and provides $10.6 million in support as they expand and develop their imaging programs and capabilities.

Our Rural Healthcare Program has granted over $700 million to organizations and initiatives in Iowa, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, Nevada, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming, and two U.S. Pacific territories. In Hawaii, we aim to further expand our mission and bring better care closer to home for more Americans.

This grant will enhance state-of-the-art care on Kauai through the purchase of a new MRI machine, upgrades to the existing X-ray room and technology, and support the Family Medicine Residency Program on Kauai.

“This grant helps ensure that Kauai’s primary hospital has the latest and greatest equipment and training opportunities to serve patients," Helmsley Trustee Walter Panzirer said when announcing the grant.
